Legends of the Fog testimony

By: Gabriel_Chain
Date: 07/12/2009

In reference to the last bulliten, I'd like to give a testimony.
I think everyone who operates a pro haunt can learn a thing or two from Legends of the Fog. It's an A1 haunt.
It was done last year in a hayride format, and what made it unique, was that before you get on the cart, you had to enter a large tent, where you sat on haybales and watched a movie, that they made, about the back story to the haunt,
which was a military experiment gone bad and released a fog into your village which is turning people into zombies.
It's then explained that the military is evacuating the area, so you must leave, and be evacuated from the village at once. That's when you get on the cart and actually evacuate the village.
The haunt really gave the feel that you were in a village trying to get out.
I've been to many haunts in my day, and can say this one really sticks out from the rest due to it's origionality.
We are all fortunate to have membership of The Legends of the Fog here on hauntspace.
If you live in or near Maryland I urge you to make the trip, you won't regret it!!

You are so right Gary about putting up tents for a living. The people that put up the tents must be super human as well. Like any learn experience we do, we find a way to have a good time doing it.

Well today Shawn,Jamie,Kevin,Jay,Patrick,Nicole,Will,Vanessa,Gary,
Samantha and our moral support crew who would drop in on us Mama and Mike Barberry educated ourselves on frame tent raising. I believe that those guys who put them up for a living are not being paid enough money because it took us alittle longer to get up than it would done by them. But there is one thing for sure we all know how to put up the next time.....NOT......but anyway it is up a great big 30x60 tent...it was a great time we got on each others nerves alittle but we still GOT'ER DONE...great work

Patrick Barberry: 4th and 5th of July Schedules
The 4th is almost here, and we're ready to give a sneak peak for Legends of the Fog in 2009. The following is a schedule for Saturday in Bel Air.
To avoid Bel Air traffic (which SUCKS! on Saturday) meet at the SOD FARM office at 3603 Aldino Road Churchville, MD 21028. (For those of you who don't know, it is the next non-gated driveway on the left after LOTF)
We will LEAVE THE SOD FARM OFFICE at 4:00pm.
We will proceed up to WEST GORDON ST opposite the Shoprite on 924.
We will finish decorating the float at that time, get in to costume and make-up and proceed in the parade. The parade will finish near W. MacPhail Road (Bel Air Middle School) We will make a left turn on W. MacPhail and head back to the farm immedietly after the parade. If you have any questions, concerns about getting to the farm at 4:00, contact me for drop-off instructions or directions. Can't wait!!! We will have both the tractor/wagon combo AND the "Fog Machine" in the parade. For more information, go to http://www.belairjuly4.org/inn...gingD.pdf.

Now... Sunday in Havre de Grace. It seems as though this one will be easier and a little more lax than Bel Air, but only time will tell. Meet here at the farm at 12:00 noon (the parade starts at 2:00 pm). I will have more information to follow if you need to meet us there. Havre de Grace is less than a 10 minute drive from the farm (on a good day) so we'll need to leave ourselves plenty of time to be ready.

We will have food/soda/water available for both events. We are putting a bonfire in the works for either saturday or sunday night (details to follow, weather pending). Please sign up on FACE BOOK if you plan on attending either event. If you're not on facebook, shoot me an e-mail. Any questions, try text or e-mail.

THANKS!!!
It'll be a blast!

What's up foggers-

Legends of the Fog will be participating in the 4th of July parade in Bel Air, and the 5th of July parade in Havre de Grace. If you would like to be a part of the festivities, shoot me an e-mail and let me know if you would be interested in one, or both.
We plan to design an actual float (to be built on June 27th). We are open to new ideas... We want it to be cool... but we MUST keep it simple.
If you haven't done so already, make yourself a fogbook account and/or become a 'fan of Legends of the Fog' on the Facebook... that way you'll get all the need-to-know information.

What's up foggers... Build day number 2 is this saturday. There isn't a ton to do yet, but we'll probably split up into three small groups to get some stuff done. As most... this one is certainly not mandatory (like they ever are) but if you want to come out and get your hands dirty and have a little fun... we'll be out there. You can come any time after 9... Lunch is on us as usual...
Things on the list: build the first set (warehouse district)
Disassemble the "wall"
Add extensions to the church
Gather materials form the barn in Churchville
Stake out/design sets: Farm scene & "Dairy Scream"
Brainstorm new video production
